EUROPARC Conference 2021

oktober 4 oktober 8

EUROPARC

Leeuwarden

From 4 until 8 October 2021, Leeuwarden in The Netherlands will host the EUROPARC Conference 2021. The key annual event for nature professionals in Europe! Here, international experts will gather to discuss thematic issues related to nature management, cultural heritage conservation and sustainable development inside Protected Areas.

Organisation EUROPARC Conference 2021 (as a representative of the Dutch National Parks) organises this conference, in collaboration with the EUROPARC Federation.

We invite all members of the EUROPARC Federation and partners to attend this conference. Especially young people – our next generation – are welcome to contribute.

Our mission:

The EUROPARC Conference contributes to a more beautiful, better, greener, sustainable and climate-proof Europe in all protected areas and National Parks.

During the EUROPARC Conference 2021, together with delegates from all over Europe, we will focus on the theme ‘Tribute to our landscape, where nature and people meet in harmony’.

Our landscapes are part of the most valuable natural, social and cultural treasures of European society. Landscapes are where nature and people meet and interact in the past, present and future.

During the conference, we will celebrate the beauty and diversity of the versatile European natural and cultural landscapes: we recognise the impact of humans on the landscape and will also discuss the dis-harmony that exists.

Finding long-term harmony is the challenge.

During this conference, we will share information, knowledge and experiences to inspire each other. Young people, their views, ideas and opinions are an integral part of EUROPARC Conference 2021.

Our aim is to ensure that all participants leave the conference feeling informed, educated and inspired: above all, we want participants to feel that the conference has been fun and good for their networking. Following the conference, we will encourage participants to take actions to improve the harmony between nature and people.

We will conclude with a shared statement, with points for actions and challenges for ourselves (EUROPARC Federation, Protected Areas and National Parks), as well as points of attention for policymakers.
